Recants Of Celibi by ~bigjojo49:iconbigjojo49:

Recants Of Celibi

I stand amid the shrine,
Listen to my words
Hear me recite the Fatiha
Seven burned infidels
Beneath the shade of the trees
Robbers and Looters
One more to join them
Greek nonbeliever
But for now hear my praise
You protect us
Your followers of Muhammed
You protect us as you protected Sultan Veliullah
Amid Cannon fodder and nonbelievers
Amid the great King of Spain
Amid the looters of his shrine
My venture to this town will not be forgotten
My words will be heard
Boudonitza, I will remember you
I mount my horse sill amazed by your story
And now I travel to Esed Abad

This poem is probably not going to mean much to most people, it is a poetic recanting by me of a section of Evliya Celebi's "Book of Travels" I'm feeling a bit trancendant right now, very poetic, but unfortunately I have not the time right now to work futher on this peice, I wanted to put something up about Celibi today however, so I wrote this very quickly, hence the strange poetic style, it was more about what first came to my head then what would sound good in sectioned lines. With that said, I would like some critiques on this piece, I would very much like to see what people think of me writing like this and on this type of subject matter. I find the ottoman empire and things of its nature to be very intriguing. If you find this poem interesting you should seriously read the section of Evliya Celebi's "Book Of Travels" of which this is about. It's only about 7 pages long after being translated into english and it is quite a good read. It is from the section called "The City of Boudonitza" a little clarification of this piece the piece is written from a Muslims point of view, so the infadels and nonbelievers in the piece refer to Christians. Other than that it should be pretty self explanitory. Anyways, i hope you enjoy it.
